HIGH ACCESS SAFETY EQUIPMENT

For 4 generations, Coutier has been solving the problems encountered by its customers in the mechanics and industrial hardware fields.

Since 1985, the high access issue encountered in our customers’ different industrial environments has led us to find innovating solutions to make these accesses safe and thereby reduce the dangers inherent to areas accessible by static ladders.

Involved in European standardisation commissions, our range of products developed and manufactured in the Moselle region of France meets regulatory (1) and standard (2) requirements:

The systems with a 5-year guarantee are available from stock and fit on all new and existing ladder types.

We can also advise on how to make your high access equipment completely safe and compliant. Our expertise allows us to support and assist you drawing up safety diagnostics.

ACCESS LOCKING for FIXED ladders

Over a million intrusion systems installed

Universally adaptable to new or existing ladders

Wide range for any configuration and type of protection (top and bottom of the ladder)

Equipment available from stock and shipped within 24 hours

Why lock?

Heads of the establishments are legally liable for the security and safety of the sites under their responsibility. Preventive and protective measures for their staff but also for contractors working on their sites are mandatory (Art. R4214-14, R 4224-20 and R 4224-4 of the French Labour Code).

Our range of products allows to:

  • Protect personnel from hazards in certain areas served by fixed ladders, including falls from height, electric, nuclear, chemical, etc.
  • Manage access to authorised persons only.
  • Protect equipment from damage, vandalism, theft.

Our wide range of locking systems covers all possible configurations.

Even though ladders are mainly accessed from the bottom, they may also have a main access at the top, to access pits, pools for example… The top locking systems are manufactured to order.

Top locking devices are manufactured on request.

INTERMEDIATE REST PLATFORMS

Upgrading the installation to compliance without replacing the ladder

Universally adaptable

Automatic closure

Compliant with the NF E 85-016 standard

To provide operator safety, rest platforms are mandatory every 6 m if the height to climb is more than 8 m (NF E 85-016) or 10 m (NF EN ISO 14122-4).

The NF E 85-016 (November 2020) standard authorises the installation of pivoting intermediate rest platforms if an offset platform cannot be installed.

Indeed, certain infrastructures (tanks, chimneys, buildings, etc.) do not have enough space to install a ladder with an offset flight.

On installations served by fixed ladders, our pivoting platforms combine safety (easily operated by hand when climbing up and with a foot pedal when climbing down) and aesthetics (small dimension).

FLOOR HATCHES

Universally adaptable

Tilt and open or slide configurations

Automatic closure

Compliant with the NF E 85-016 standard

In industrial facilities, floors, technical walkways and gangways may have access hatches that stay open after they have been passed through or have unlocked openings in the floor to access upper and lower levels using fixed ladders.

These dangerous situations lead to many falls and accidents.

To secure these openings, we propose several models of floor hatch with automatic closure after the user has passed through:

  • Hinged composite material duckboard hatch
  • Sliding hatch with diamond plate metal floor, opened by handle when climbing up and a pedal when going down.

This equipment can be adapted to all technical configurations.
